AI readiness checker
Can AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read your site and describe your business correctly? An Evisio SEO audit report runs six checks that help them. Enter your site for a free report of up to 10 pages, or check your llms.txt file right now.
What Evisio checks
| Check | What passes |
|---|---|
| llms.txt found | A plain-text file at /llms.txt, not a web page |
| llms.txt format | Its first line is # and your site’s name |
| entitymap.json found | Valid JSON at /entitymap.json |
| entitymap.html found | A page at /entitymap.html that loads without redirecting |
| AI info page found | A page at /llm-info that loads without redirecting |
| AI crawlers allowed | robots.txt doesn’t block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended or CCBot from the whole site |
Why AI readiness matters
More people now ask an AI assistant which business to call instead of searching. Those assistants answer from what they can read about you. When your site gives them clear facts in the places they look, they are more likely to describe you accurately and recommend you. When it doesn’t, they fill the gaps from outdated listings and other people’s pages.
How to pass each check
llms.txt
A short Markdown summary of your site with links to your key pages, at the root of your domain. Write one and test it with the llms.txt checker. Example: evisio.co/llms.txt.
Entity maps
An entity map lists the entities behind your site (your business, its people, products, services, locations and partners) and how they relate. Publish it twice: as JSON for machines at /entitymap.json, and as a readable page at /entitymap.html. Examples: evisio.co/entitymap.json and evisio.co/entitymap.html.
AI info page
A plain, factual page at /llm-info: what you do, who you serve, where, your prices, your people, how to reach you, and the facts AI tools tend to get wrong. No marketing copy. Example: evisio.co/llm-info.
AI crawlers in robots.txt
Open yourdomain.com/robots.txt and look for User-agent lines naming GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended or CCBot followed by Disallow: /. Each one keeps that company’s AI from reading your site. Remove them unless you block AI on purpose. Some hosts and security plugins add these rules for you, so check their settings too.
Questions
Does blocking AI crawlers protect my content?
It keeps those companies from training on or quoting your pages, but it also keeps your business out of their answers. For most small businesses being recommended is worth more than being hidden.
Do I need all six?
Start with the two that take minutes: let AI crawlers in, and add llms.txt. Then add the AI info page and entity maps, which take an hour or two and give AI tools the fullest picture of your business.
